Happy easter

Happy Easter! I know this post is a bit belated, I wanted to put some pictures up with it but James needed to upload them.

We have a lovely Easter weekend. We went up to my home town to stay with my parents for a few days. It was nice to be home, although a bit strange. It was good though to look at the town with fresh eyes. There has been so much development I hardly recognise the place. And it really is a pretty town with water views from so many parts of it.

Over the weekend, the Harbour Festival was on. We went down on the Thursday night as it was family night. It was very exciting for Charlotte since she had never been to a carnival before. She had her first play at a sideshow game - the clowns. We had 3 turns and she loved putting the balls in the clowns faces. She even won some prizes, a little bear, a wand and a toy phone. She then had her first ride on a merry-go-round, although I don't think she enjoyed it. I would have liked to have let her go on one of the other rides but I just think she is too little still. But she really enjoyed being pushed around and looking at everything - she would stop and point at all the lights. After a nice dinner of fish and chips we watched a show on the stage then the fireworks! Charlotte didn't seem to mind the bangs at all. It was a big night.
The rides and lights fascinated her

The next day we went back down to the markets, and she had a lovely play in the park. Unfortunately the battery died in the car so we were stuck there for a few hours waiting for RACQ but it was still a nice day. We also had a picnic out at the dam.

Easter day dawned and Charlotte was up early - as usual. We hadn't really talked about the Easter bunny but when I said "where are the Easter eggs" she did go looking for them. And when she found them she was so excited. She kept saying "wow" over and over. We only gave her a little one and so did Mum and Dad but it was enough. The first bite was a bit unusual for her, but you could see the minute she realised that this chocolate stuff was yummy. I had a piece on the table and all of sudden she had wolfed it down! The rest of the day was lovely with a nice lunch.

Wow!
Where did it go?

I think the best day though was on Easter Monday when we took her to the beach. The water was surprisingly warm so Charlotte, Mum and I went in. Charlotte kept running/crawling into the waves. She got dumped a few times but it didn't bother her at all. She kept laughing and running around. She had such a lovely time and we sure did tire her out - not that it helped her sleep through at all.

I felt sad when we went to drive home, we really did have such a lovely time and it was good to see Mum and Dad again. I love that Charlotte keeps having such wonderful new experiences and we are there to share them with her.

Drug free

I am finally drug free. After our official BFN, I stopped almost all of the drugs. AF finally arrived 5 days afterwards which seemed like a long time to me. Unfortunately the sick feeling didn't end there. I got some massive headaches, I would call them migraines. I pretty much had a headache every day for over a week, and AF lasted a long time too. I guess I had so many hormones running around that the comedown was just as bad. I don't recall feeling that bad with any of the other cycles, and AF definitely came back as normal rather than what I have had this time around.
I had still been taking the prednisone and I just wasn't sure when or how to stop it. Over the Easter weekend I just got sick of it and cut down to 5 mg. A few days later I forgot to take it. oops. So that was it, I'm off it. I'm already starting to feel so much better. I can't believe that I have spent the last 3 months feeling sick every single day.
Now I just have to try to lose the weight that I put on! Warren made a comment once that it isn't the drugs that make you put on weight but what you put in your mouth. While I agree with him, I have put on 5-6 kg in the last two months. I have been doing alot of comfort eating, and haven't been able to go to the gym as I have felt so sick, but surely the drugs have played a part. Anyway, over the next few weeks I am going to try eating a bit better and go to the gym more. I think my membership runs out soon and I have to decide whether to spend the money and renew or not. I really only go to the pilates classes, but would want to keep that going either at the gym or in a private class. Better finish off that Easter chocolate!
